A New Quilt!

So before I get into the guts of this post, I have to tell you a story.

Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about going out to lunch for Stacy's birthday in this post?  Well today was Anna's birthday so we headed back to good ol' Pizza Luce for another celebration.  Woo hoo!  We sat down to order and the waitress mentioned that my staple Tostada Ensalada (see?  I love it so much I give it the honor of being capatalized!) was going to temporarily be removed from the menu.  I know.  I was shocked too. In fact I might have teared up a bit.  I started sweating and in my mind I was planning what my "SAVE THE TOSTADA ENSALADA" picket sign would look like.  Seriously?!?  First they took the refried beans off of it, and now temporarily off the menu???  At least we had today.  We had to hold on to today.  So we did what came natural.  We let the waitress know that this was very disappointing, and five out of seven of us ordered it.  :)  A short time later the waitress returned to let us know that she just had a conversation with the manager and the salad was not actually going to be removed from the menu.  She said she had gotten some incorrect information and it wasn't going anywhere.  Our table literally erupted in cheers!  (or maybe that was just me...  things were still spinning a little.)  So the darkness is no longer closing in, and all is right and good in the world.

So I'm wondering - did the waitress get wrong information?  Or did the fact that a table of 7 just sent in an order for 5 Tostada Ensalada's have anything to do with it?  I'll probably never know.

Anyway, happy birthday to you, Anna.  I'm sorry your birthday lunch had an almost tragedy in it.

Thank you for allowing me to share this tragic event with you and being so understanding.

Now, on to your regularly scheduled blog post...

So usually when the hubs and I go away on kid-free vacations, the kids go to Brainerd to stay with my In-Laws.  There are usually tears from Morgan when we say goodbye (Andy couldn't care any less that he won't see us for a few days), but I know they always have a good time when they are there.  There is usually fishing, bike riding, TV watching, eating, cooking, laziness, and game playing.  I was made aware, however, that for the last few trips, Morgan and Grandma were working on a super secret crafty project for me.  Morgan was so stinkin excited about it, she just couldn't keep the fact that there was this big project, and that it was for me, and that it was a secret.

While we were on our recent trip to Madeline Island, I got a text from Morgan that the project was done!  What I didn't know was that I would get it when we got home!

Isn't it gorgeous?!?  The maroon in it matches the color of my bedroom walls perfectly.

"Mama, remember when I came home from Brainerd that one time and told you that my elbow was sore because I bumped it?  I didn't really bump it at all.  I had to cut out ALL these pieces!  Grandma said I probably have tennis elbow!"

It is absolutely perfect, ladies.  You did an amazing job!

Grandma is so thoughtful.  She even put this patch on to the back of the quilt with the details.  Isn't that a great idea?

I think it looks even better with this snuggled up inside of it.  I love you snugglebug!

Thank you both so very much for this gift.  I don't think I can express in words what it means to me.  I will cherish it forever and ever and ever!

XOXOX
